spread the love this holiday season

Every year, Andy and I make a holiday donation to a charity that is near and dear to our hearts - we do this in the name of our families, and are happy that we've been fortunate enough to do it consistently for the last few years.

This year, the charity we've chosen is an extremely personal one. Our dear friends J. and Janet Robbins' baby boy Cal was born with a serious, fatal genetic condition called Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Though there is no cure for this condition, there are lots of treatments that promise to give Cal the best possible quality of life. Unfortunately, many of these, especially the alternative treatments, are not covered by health insurance.

This situation has been devistating and heartbreaking for J. and Janet, their families and thier friends alike. But as a friend, you ask yourself, "What on earth can I do to ease the suffering of these dear, sweet people?" Well, with that question in the front of their minds, a couple of friends and former bandmates of theirs set up a website with more information and a place to make a donation. All of the money will go straight to J. and Janet to help defray their growing medical bills. It is:

If you are looking to give to a worthwhile cause this holiday season, I would strongly urge you to consider this one. (I mean, look at the picture of this little bub - how can you deny his sweet face ANYTHING???)

I know they would appreciate it.
