I love this

I may be the last person who knows about such things, always, but my dad sent this video to me this morning, and I got such a kick out of it, I have to share:

I wanted to add a "p.s." to this posting - particularly after reading Monica's comment...

There are a couple of things that I love about this video in particular:

- That this is how Matt's body moves when he just needs to dance around, and I think that's kind of rad.
- The fact that this act itself was the thing that got this guy around the world.
- That one scene in India.
- That other scene in Papua New Guinea.
- ANY scene with kids.
- The outtakes that pop up in a separate video if you watch this on youtube.
- This guy's subsequent website. Check out the FAQs. Total hoot.

Here's to dancing with wreckless abandon!

“If you like music, then Erin should DJ your wedding. She captured exactly what we were looking for, playing hours of music we love and always keeping the party going. Her extensive wedding experience really came in hand when we weren’t sure what to play for the ceremony music. She pointed us in exactly the right direction and helped us find something perfect for what we wanted.

Even though I’m somewhat of a music snob, there wasn’t one song all night that wasn’t exactly what I wanted to hear at our party. Not only were we extremely happy with the music, our friends (and our parents’ friends) were extremely happy as well. Erin read the room perfectly.

Oh and she’s also professional, friendly, easy to deal with, and put our desires first while making sure that everyone had a good time (thanks for telling one friend “No country music!”). We would definitely hire Erin again.”

"Erin was fantastic to work with. She was very professional and flexible with everything we needed. We had a couple meetings with her prior to the wedding to discuss what we wanted, and she delivered exactly what we envisioned. She handled all the music during the day; from the ceremony to dinner and dancing. For dancing we only gave three songs we wanted played and left the rest up to her. She kept people dancing the whole night. "

"Erin was wonderful to work with. She always responded immediately to emails, was very flexible, and had a great selection of music and really knew how to get the crowd going! We had quite an age range at our wedding, and everyone was up dancing from the toddlers to some friends of our parents’ who are in their late 60’s. She was laid-back, didn’t put on an annoying fake DJ voice or personality, and really just kept the evening moving smoothly with a great variety of music. Three weeks later, we’re still getting phone calls and emails from people telling us what a great time they had at our wedding, and I attribute much of that to Erin’s awesome DJ skills. I highly recommend her!!!"

"Erin was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. She understood my tastes in music right away and with that in mind she crafted the best playlist for me and my wedding guests. Throughout the night, she'd do a pulse check to ensure what she was playing meshed with the crowed and by the end of the night, every one of my guests was on the dance floor! "Hands down the best vendor we chose. I originally was going to go the iPod wedding route because music is so important and I didn't want to risk booking a dj that wouldn't get us. I soon as I saw one of Erin's playlists online, I knew that she would totally fit our wedding. We had so many compliments on her - she played music that was us and she was really low-key with the announcements and introductions. We gave her a list of songs ahead of time that we liked so that she could get a better idea of what type of music we liked, but outside of the introduction and planned dances, we only gave her two songs that we really wanted to hear that night. She totally nailed it. "

I wanted to tell you how absolutely amazing you were for our wedding! The play list was great and people who I never thought even knew how to dance were out there hitting up the dance floor. Basically you kept the night flowing and the atmosphere exactly what we had hoped for. I hope everything worked out smoothly on your end (directions, set-up, etc.) as well. Thanks for putting together a dinner hour CD, it worked out well. I kept telling people that you played locally - Black Cat, St. Ex - the locals of the group have been asking me what days you play, where, etc. Even heard that Brendan's best man, Devin, heard you play last Thursday! We hope to make it out to hear you sometime soon - I just have to work on my less-than-desired night shift schedule I have. "We hired Erin for our October 7, 2006 wedding. We first met with her in February so that she could get a feel for our tastes and so that we could get an idea of what I guess I'd call her DJ philosophy. While my husband had originally wanted to save money by iPodding our wedding, he agreed to meet with a DJ because I was nervous about how much work it might be to do our own and because we weren't sure about the sound system at our site. As we left our first meeting, it was obvious he'd had a complete turnaround and was completely on board with hiring Erin. He felt really comfortable that she'd play music we liked, be able to read the crowd, and emcee without being annoying or trite. In the months preceding the wedding, Erin was responsive to our messages. On the day of the wedding, Erin showed up early, with an apprentice, to set up and proceeded to play a varied set that, at various points, had everyone on the dance floor. We've since had a few guests request her contact information for themselves or to pass on to friends who are getting married. She's extremely professional, with a good sense of sarcasm that we appreciated. We both highly recommend Erin.. for all your DJ'ing needs.
